Notice on the processing of personal data

When we collect personal data, we follow the principles of lawfulness, transparency, security and minimization of processed data.

With this policy, we aim to explain what personal information we collect, how we use it, for what purpose we do it and what your rights are in relation to the personal data processed for you.

This policy applies to the personal data we collect from you or about you on this site, in the provision of services when you visit our sites, and from other sources (such as when you make contact via our feedback form).

By applying for an online newsletter subscription and/or by using this site, you demonstrate that you accept the rules regarding the collection and use of your personal data as described in this Policy.

 

What information do we collect?

Personal data and information about you that you provide to us

Before you register on techmart.cy, you identify yourself to the website with your IP address, which is necessary for communication to take place between techmart.cy and the device through which you visit the site. This information is not used or processed in any other way than for the purposes of obtaining content from your device. When establishing an initial connection, four cookies are saved on your device. For the purpose of each of them, please also read our Cookie Statement.

When you register on our site, we collect personal data about you, which includes your email, preferred username (together with a password), names, telephone and address, incl. city, as well as age verification information. This information is a preliminary step for the purposes of providing our sales and delivery services, including:

  • The use of a username and password is necessary for subsequent identification before the site. To prevent the leakage of personal data from your user profile, please keep it safe and do not share it with anyone under any circumstances;
  • The email serves to confirm the registration, as well as for subsequent contacts in connection with the delivery of the goods purchased or ordered by you. Without your express and further consent (by completing a separate newsletter form), your email will not be used for direct marketing purposes by us or our partners.
  • Your telephone number is required to confirm the initial and, at the discretion of our sales agents, subsequent orders in the form of a telephone call from us. Also, when making a purchase or order, your phone will be used to provide current delivery information so that we can make every effort to receive the item you purchased or ordered.
  • If you use additional services for transport to an address, we will use your address and telephone number for the purposes of providing the service. These personal data, together with your name, may also be provided to our partners - a logistics service company selected by us. Our partners are contractually obligated to process your personal data solely in connection with the execution of the specific delivery.

 

In order to limit the collection of personal data of persons under the age of 18, we use the information provided by you for those who have reached the age of majority.

Important!

Sensitive data is not collected, stored and processed by Techmart LTD. Such are, for example, data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political views, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership in professional organizations, data on health status. Please do not mention them in any way in your message or registration!

 

Personal data and information we collect automatically

When you use our site, we also collect information from your device (computer, phone, tablet, etc.). This information may include your IP address, the browser you use, and your language settings.

Personal data and information we receive from other sources

In addition, we should inform you that we receive information about you from other sources, such as the providers of Google's online statistics services through their Analytics product and the providers of the integrated chat service Zopim.

Information collected from these sources may be used in conjunction with information you provide. We use this information for the purposes described in this Policy.

Why do we collect your personal data and on what grounds do we do it?

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  1. To process your registration - obtained by completing the form on the site;
  2. To provide and deliver our products and services to you and to pay for them;
  3. To communicate with you about your purchases, orders or deliveries;
  4. To maintain our records (eg register of issued invoices, issued warranty cards, etc.);
  5. To respond to your requests, and complaints;
  6. For statistical purposes;
  7. To send you our newsletter, upon request;
  8. To offer you similar products or complementary products, according to your needs and preferences, within the framework of the site visit, with appropriate cookie settings that you can make;
  9. For marketing and advertising purposes, with your consent.

The grounds on which we collect and process your personal data are to fulfill and comply with our legal obligations (under items 4 and 5), to fulfill the contract concluded between us (under items 1, 2 and 3) in order to protect our legitimate interests (under item 6) or - upon obtaining your prior consent for processing (under items 7, 8 and 9).

When we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests, you have the right to object to this processing by contacting us at the email or postal address specified at the end of this Policy.

How long do we store your personal data?

We store your personal data only for the minimum period necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this Policy, unless we are legally required or entitled to store it for a longer period.

We determine the retention period by taking into account several factors, including the duration of service provision, if necessary for the purpose of establishing, exercising or defending our and/or your legal claims and inquiries or if we have a legal obligation to retain the data (e.g. accounting documents for a period of 5 years or 10 years).

If you have consented to us sending you invitations to our events or information about promotions and discounts, we will process the contact details you have provided until you withdraw your consent (how to do this see here [insert hyperlink]). Additionally, in every email you receive from us, there will be an easy way to opt out of receiving said information.

 

Who do we share your personal data with?

Your personal data may be provided to government authorities within their competence for the purpose of fulfilling legal obligations, to our trusted partners – insofar as this is necessary for the performance of the delivery services provided by us. We select our partners according to the highest standards of data security, which they apply and guarantee. 

Third parties that receive your personal data are legal entities with whom we cooperate to provide services, such as financial institutions (banks, leasing companies), payment platforms, transport companies.

We provide data about you to our partners in order to provide you with various options for payment and/or delivery of goods and services.

When you make a payment through the integrated payment platform, your personal data is processed through the respective platforms of our partners, to which the techmart.cy site automatically refers. In these cases, the Privacy Policy of our partners applies.

 

Protecting your personal data is a priority for us as we strive to meet your expectations and build trust between us. Therefore, we do not provide your personal data to third parties without properly informing you about it, including we do not provide your personal data to third countries or international organizations.

 

How do we protect your rights?

We process your personal data only in accordance with the purposes, grounds and terms stated above.

When we collect personal data, we do so in a minimal amount and only for pre-defined and clearly defined purposes and retention periods. We provide access to the data only to a limited number of persons who have been previously trained and instructed on how to work with them.

 

In accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, we implement appropriate technical and organizational data protection measures, having introduced policies, procedures and forms to ensure accountability and compliance with the requirements of applicable data protection legislation.

 

What are your rights?

According to the provisions of the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), applicable from 25.05.2018, and under the conditions defined therein, as a data subject you have the right: 

  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification – you have the right to request the rectification of data we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to erasure (“to be forgotten”) – in certain circumstances, you can request that the data we hold about you be deleted from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – if certain conditions apply, you have the right to request restriction of processing.
  • Right to portability - you have the right to have the data we store about you transferred to you or to be transferred to another organization in cases where it is processed automatically and on the basis of your consent or contract and when there is a technological possibility for this.
  • Right to withdraw consent - You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time, as easily as it was given. Effect of withdrawn consent going forward.
  • Right to object - you have the right to object to certain types of processing, such as any processing of your personal data that is based on Techmart LTD's legitimate interests. In this case, we will cease the processing, unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that take precedence over your personal interests, rights and freedoms.
  • Right to object - you have the right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes. In these cases, you do not need to provide specific grounds, and we are obliged to cease processing without undue delay. 
  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling - you also have the right NOT to be subject to the legal consequences of a decision made solely on the basis of automated processing or profiling.
  • Right to complain - You have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory body (CLP) and the court.

We will respond to any reasonable request you may have, without undue delay, within 30 days. If we are unable to do this, we will notify you in a timely manner, including the reasons for the delay.

Any change to this policy will be announced on the techmart.cy website and in each of our offices and stores. In the event of a material change to the information, we will additionally notify you by sending an email, as far as we have one.
